I have baby knitting fever! I've been knitting up a storm for my new baby girl. I've knit Debbie Bliss' Baby Bolero, Matinee Jacket, Eyelet Dress, and have bought yarn for at least another project. I've also made 2 Charlotte's Web shawls-1 for me and 1 for my mom.

OK, it's WAY too late and I'm SOOO tired, but I need to post SOMETHING!!! It's been a LOOOONG summer. Wow, when it's late I capitalize alot. OK, I started a chevron scarf for me from the loveliest 2 koigu colorways EVER. I will post pics when I can get myself together during daylight hours. It's already quite long, but the thing about the scarf is: It was almost exlclusively knit at car dealerships. Yes, for those of you who know my Joshua, he's caught the car-buying bug AGAIN. Because buying 1 car a year is not enough for him. It's actually been 8 mo, so kudos to my man for holding out this long. Now that we're gearing up to move back north, he thinks we need another SUV. RIGHT. So, thursday was spent at the Jeep dealership. ALL THURSDAY. and then I also knit during poker fri night...which I won, btw. So, maybe the WPT should adopt knitting as a poker strategy. Then sunday (earlier...today, I suppose. Actually, it's yesterday now) we were at the toyota dealership and I just followed him around knitting my chevron. la-dee-da!!! Just keep knitting...I love my husband...see the shiny cars that we don't need...ugh. At least I got alot done while appearing to support my hubby. I think I'm slowloy wearing down his resolve. I just keep telling him the car would look better in red and that the rav4 is kinda girly for a big manly man like him. :-) Another car. that would make 6 cars in the last 3 years...we're currently at 5. our grand total as a couple is 8 so far...let's see how far we get by our golden anniversary!

Our church had a 50's themed volunteer appreciation dinner. Since today was "knit in public" day, we decided to bring along our WIPs and do just that. Now that I look at the pic, we look seriously domestic. ;-P But we all know the truth about that! Can't tame THESE wild women! Unless, of course, there is yarn involved. Then we would do just about anything, I suppose. It was fun! Although, there was a performance issue with me and the hula hoop. For those of you who may not know, I ama dynamite hula hoop-er. Ask my mom, I would stand in our driveway in suburban long island and hula hoop ALL DAY. I could go for HOURS. So, of course, when the time came and my hubby said, "3, 2, 1, GO!!!" My hoop kept dropping. IT WAS SO CRAZY!!! I could do it when we were warming up, but I couldn't get the darn thing going when everyone was watching me! How funny. I'm the last one you'd think would choke in front of a crowd. Especially since I'm up in front of people every week! Weird. I want a do-over!

I'm BA-ACK!!! It's been a while, but I'm still here and still crafting. Like a mad woman. Which is why I've been AWOL for so long! :-) My friend Kristen and I have opened our own etsy store at www.crispcollective.etsy.com and are still waiting for it to take off. It's been fun, though! I must say that it's different when you're crafting for profit rather than as a gift or a personal project. I feel like I need to make sure it's "sell-able" when all i really want to do is make cool stuff! :-)

This pic was taken on Valentine's day, 2006, at Bella Filati in Southern Pines, NC. My dh bought me some Rowan kidsilk haze and needles for a lovely project i'm doing out of Wrap Style. :-) Josiah's wearing a very expensive wig of pure wool. Such a cutie! Posted by Picasa

It finally got cold enough here in NC for me to wear my sweater! I knit it using Andean silk from knitpicks in Sangria (yummy) from the "Hourglass Sweater" pattern in joelle Hoeverson's Last Minute Knitted Gifts. :-) Me likey.

It's midnight and I have a fundraiser to run tomorrow. I have been rubber stamping cards ALL DAY and am so sick of it! All I wanted to do was curl up with my son's adorable Big Digger sweater and finish it! It's the cutest pattern, I love Handknits for Kids, it's inspired me to buy skeins upon skeins of lovely cotton yarn forJosiah.

On a different note, I've finished blocking my Hourglass sweater (Last-Minute Knitted Gifts) and have nowhere to wear it. It's going to be 80 degrees tomorriow. :-( It looks GOOD, though!
